Fall in Paris

So I’m sitting in the airport headed back to Sevilla and wow, what a great weekend. The fact that I have the opportunity to hop on a plane like I did Friday and spend a weekend in Paris and tomorrow I’ll be back in classes — is absolutely mind boggling to me.

To make a long post short I had an amazing time in Paris. I saw, I wander, I ate, and I don’t think I stopped smiling the entire time. I got to experience a little bit of actual fall (Not Sevilla fall which when I left was still 80 degrees) and fall in Paris is beautiful.

I’m beginning to even surprise myself in little ways each trip. Whether it’s how easily I can figure out the metro, the fact that when someone doesn’t understand me I ask if they understand Spanish, or just the fact that I’m okay and even like just wandering through places with little to no agenda by myself; and I thank study abroad for showing me these little things about myself.

I hope to come back to Paris some day — there’s still so much I have to see — but this weekend gave me lifetime memories that I’ll never forget. And they started from the moment my bus rounded a corner and I could see the Eiffel Tower light up in the sky after arriving to the boat tour of the Seine I did today before I left.

Of course I did have a couple of things I wanted to do: see the Eiffel Tower, the Arc de Triumfe, Notre Dame, and the Lourve and I was able to see that a more. I ate delicious food and I stayed in a lovely Flat right outside of the center. Plus I was able to see where the Dior fashion week show was right before I got to Paris.

The best part is this is only the beginning. I know that with almost every place I have the opportunity to visit while I’m abroad — I’ll want to come back and I’ve accepted that, in fact that makes it all the more exciting to me.

Thank you city of lights, city of love, fashion capital of the world, food capital of the world: Paris. I came, I saw, I marveled, I ate –and I hope to be back sometime soon. If not thank you for memories I’ll never forget.
