As the last hours of 2015 tick away, I look back on all the things I learned in 2015 and many things I’m glad to leave behind. I’m usually not one to make resolutions as I’m not always great on following up on them. And no one like to hear the “new year, new me” saying that plague all social media sites around this time. But as I was thinking of things that I want to take into this next year it’s not that I want to be a new me, but rather, that I want to be more me.
2015 is a year that as great as it was, will be a year that I will be happy to leave behind. I look forward to being true to myself in 2016 in as many ways as I can. I leave behind a year filled of doubt, anger, and sadness; as well as love, laughter and fun and I look forward to the challenges that 2016 will present to me.
The best part of a new year is that for those who need it, it’s a fresh slate. You get to learn from the mistakes you made, accept the apologies that you never got, move past the “I’m sorry”s that you’ll never hear and just start again; and you move forward a little wiser and a little smarter.
I’m not sure what 2016 will bring, but I’m excited to see. I’m the happiest I’ve ever been. The most me I’ve ever been and ready to move into the unknown of the next year. Wishing all of you a wonderful new year. May this be the year you move closer to whatever it is you’re looking for.
Love always,
Victoria
P.S this New Year’s Eve please do not drink and drive! Call a friend, have a designated driver, use Uber, use Lyft or find a Taxi. The only way for you to have a great 2016 is for you to be in it.
