I have a long history with the pool, that began when my parents had me in Water Babies classes as an infant. Fast forward to age 9 when I began competing on a team, from that point until I was 18 I was a competitive swimmer. I was a record setting, 4 year varsity athlete in high-school; part of a team that won our league championship all 4 years. I also competed all year-round for a club where I also was able to hold a few club records.
At the age of 12 I first began assisting in teaching swim lessons for our Saturday morning swim program and fell in love with the water all over again. I realized that as much as I loved swimming, I loved helping other kids learn to overcome their own hesitations about the pool just as much. I helped as an assistant for 6 years in that regard while also teaching during the summers as a swim instructor/lifeguard at a camp.
Now, I am a USA Swimming certified coach and have been working with my former club to coach kids from ages 6-18. In addition, I teach clients in both private and semi-private classes. All of my certifications are kept current including: American Red Cross Lifeguarding/First Aid, American Red Cross CPR/AED, USA Swimming Safety Training, and USA Swimming Athlete Protection.
I have helped over 100 kids become water safe over my 10+ years of teaching and if you think it’s time for you or your child to learn I would love to help.
